Reading the map of Leonida

Leonida is a state, not a city. The plan above shows it whole: a long peninsula between the Gulf of Leonida to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, closed to the south by a chain of keys. Vice City occupies the south-east; everything else is countryside, marshland, forest and small towns.

Every marker on the plan is a place the wiki documents: click one and its bubble carries a photo, a category and a summary, with a link to its full entry. The coloured areas are gang territories, drawn in the colour each gang carries. Everything comes from the same database as the rest of the site, so a correction made once shows up everywhere.

The counties of Leonida

The plan names five counties. They are the coarsest way to situate a place: before knowing the street, it helps to know which end of the state you are looking at.

  • Lummox County

The far north. Forest and lakes, crossed by two long roads and almost no urban grid — the greenest end of the state on the plan.

  • Leonard County

The north-east, along the Atlantic. A large inland lake, several small towns and the long barrier beach that runs down the coast.

  • Kelly County

The west coast, on the Gulf. Farmland and a scatter of islands offshore, with a racetrack and an airfield visible on the plan.

  • Vice-Dale County

The south-east, and the densest part of the state: Vice City, its beaches, its port, its airport and the island districts off the coast. Most of the places the wiki lists sit here.

  • Mariana County

The south. Marshland cut by waterways, then the keys that trail off towards the Leonida Straits and a lone airfield island at the far end.

The map answers where. For the rest — who lives there, what is driven, what is worn, which mission passes through — the wiki has an entry for each.
