Rockstar Games has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on Thursday, November 19, 2026, instead of its previously expected launch window. The news came directly from the studio’s official account on X (formerly Twitter).
In their statement, Rockstar apologized for the extended wait but explained that the extra development time will allow the team to deliver the high level of quality fans expect from the franchise.
“We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait,” the company wrote. “These extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”
