Overview

Description

Store robberies return in GTA 6 as a much deeper open-world money-making activity. An Extended Look shows Jason and Lucia robbing convenience stores and other businesses, while preview demonstrations describe these jobs as ordinary repeatable opportunities rather than one-off story scenes. Players can reportedly bring the other protagonist or operate alone, choose a quieter back entrance, use tools to open doors, disable cameras and alarms, empty registers and leave before police understand what happened.

The system expands the spontaneous convenience-store robberies of GTA V, where pointing a weapon at a cashier usually produced a simple cash payout and immediate wanted response. GTA VI adds surveillance, witness awareness, equipment, stealth and a smarter police system that depends on crimes being observed and reported. Larger non-story targets such as jewelry stores, small banks and gang stashes are also reported to appear as opportunities with estimated values.

Robberies can affect the protagonists' criminal profile and carried cash can be lost if the player dies or is arrested before depositing it. These robberies are described as a significant source of open-world action and income between story missions, while individual stores remain distinct physical targets with their own layouts, security measures and potential loot.
