GTA 6 Trailer Brings Back the Iconic Cheetah—And Maybe a Football Easter Egg
Published on 6/24/2025
The trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI is full of nods to past games—and one of the most exciting for longtime fans is the return of the Cheetah, a classic car model first made famous in GTA: Vice City on the PS2.
Although the Cheetah has appeared in later titles like GTA V, its visual design in the GTA 6 trailer seems to closely match the Vice City version, sparking nostalgia among fans.
But some viewers think there’s more to this appearance than meets the eye. A few speculate that the scene could be referencing Tyreek Hill, the American football player nicknamed “Cheetah” for his speed and background as a track sprinter. Hill currently plays for the Miami Dolphins, based in Florida—the same real-world state that inspired Vice City, now renamed Leonida in GTA 6.
Some fans even believe the man stepping out of the Cheetah car in the trailer is a caricature of Tyreek Hill himself, blending Rockstar's classic satire with modern pop culture.
Whether it’s just a car or a layered Easter egg, the Cheetah’s return adds yet another exciting detail to dissect in GTA 6’s trailer.
